Special Lecture by the Expert from JICA
OBJECTIVE.
We invited Dr. Takao SHIBUSAWA from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to deliver a special lecture on the role of official development aid and the SHEP (Smallholder Horticulture Empowerment and Promotion) Approach. SHEP, initially introduced in Kenya through a technical cooperation project with Japan, aims to enhance farmers' motivation for agricultural business activities. JICA successfully spread this approach across Africa and other regions by involving local small and medium-sized firms in Japan and coordinating with development projects in developing countries. The seminar facilitated stimulating discussions and idea exchange among students, deepening their understanding of the challenges
