MPMA Special Seminar in Hanoi: Empowering Academic Research and Fostering Connections

OBJECTIVE.

During early August, we hosted a special seminar series in Hanoi, Vietnam, exclusively for JICA/JDS fellows. Under the guidance of Professor Kataoka, the seminars featured a two-day pre-enrollment session for incoming fellows, emphasizing the essentials of initiating empirical academic research. Additionally, our administrative team, represented by Ms. Orihara, offered valuable insights into embarking on one’s journey at Rikkyo Graduate School.
Professor Kataoka also delivered a lecture entitled “Spatial Income Imbalance and Convergence: Measurement and Policy Implications in Vietnam” to JICA/JDS graduates. This seminar aimed to bridge the gap between empirical findings and policy applications and to enhance participants' expertise in policy analysis.

In the midst of these enriching academic achievements, we also facilitated a warm reunion gathering, further strengthening our ties with graduates.
This initiative in Hanoi reinforced our commitment to both academic advancement and lasting relationships.
