Field Trip in 2023 Summer
OBJECTIVE.
15 MPMA students who are from Vietnam, Kenya, Philippines, China, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Tanzania, and Sao Tome Principe had a field trip to Nagano prefecture.
On the first day we arrived at Togakushi area, and visited the Togakushi shrine. To go to the upper shrine, we took a light mountain trail since it is located in the forested mountains northwest of central Nagano. Students enjoyed walking with feeling the sacred energy from the path through the forest and learning the history of the area.
After walking, we moved to the hotel in the style of Japanese traditional way, so students had a cultural experience to enjoy Onsen, meals in a traditional way at the Tatami banquet hall, and futon bed which were totally new for almost all students.
On the second day, we went to Kurobe Dam, one of the iconic infrastructures which propelled the development in Japan after World War II. Students were excited at the beautiful and dynamic view of the dam surrounded by rich nature, and at the same time, impressed by the story behind the scene of dam construction, especially encouraged by the fact that Japan also used to be the developing country.
We believe they have learned a lot from this experience. Nothing is more precious than the memory shared among the fellows!
