Field Trip in 2020 Winter

OBJECTIVE.

The field trip for M2 students was held in February. 11 students from Indonesia, Nepal, Vietnam and Benin visited Echigo Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture, which is the northern part of Japan. Though this area is famous for heavy snow, we could find little snow this winter due to the warm climate.
However, we could enjoy the beautiful scenery and the historical atmosphere at "Untoan", which is the old temple and its origin is related to Fujiwara clan. We learned the culture and history of Japan at there.
After that, we stopped at the "Michi no Eki", which means a roadside store. This is a kind of the rest house running by local government, and is usually located in the open roads equipped with parking lots, restrooms, restaurants and souvenir shops selling local products. We learned the roles of local government in Japan there.
On the second day, students experienced skiing as a cultural exchange. Some of them tried to ride on a lift and challenged skiing from the middle of the mountain, though this was a very first experience for them! They really enjoy it.
