OBJECTIVE.

On January 14th, Professor Jinhwan Oh, a visiting professor of our MPMA program from Ewha Womans University in South Korea, conducted the Brown-bag style online research seminar.
This seminar was delivered during the lunch break held on Zoom and lasts 60 minutes including discussion. Our students learned a lot about the history of the official development aids in South Korea that experienced the dynamic changes from a recipient country to a donor country. And all enjoyed the active discussions with the presenter.

The summary is described as below.

Summary:
In the era of the SDGs, partnerships and cooperation have been particularly emphasized. This gives lessons to an emerging development donor, like South Korea, where the soaring aid budget is fragmented to many small pieces. In this regard, this presentation deals with major challenges of development effectiveness suggests several ways forward, including PBA, RBA, PPP, RCT, etc. If time permits, potential inter-Korea cooperation could be discussed, as well.
